The ghost gum is native to the Darling Range in Western Australia.

It can grow to a height of 20 metres and has a smooth white bark that is powdery and seen to change to a yellow colour in Autumn.

The lance-shaped leaves are a bluish green in colour and are long and thin.

Summertime is when the white flowers appear, leaving behind a cup shaped capsule fruit.
