This large-fruited mallee is native to areas in the south of WA and South Australia. It can be found in arid areas with sandy soil.
Typically, 4 to 8 metres is the height this Eucalyptus can grow, but can be found to reach 10 metres.
Bark of the Ooldea mallee is rough and flaky in a dark brown/grey colour. Towards the top, bark becomes smoother and turns a pink/grey colour.
From June to October, the red and yellow flowers can be seen. They are grouped in three and grow to about 5cm long and 5cm wide.
