River She-oak (Casuarina cunninghamiana)

The native river oak can be found to habitat more on the eastern side of Australia throughout the river systems growing to 35 metres tall in places.

 

Bark can be rough and thick with thin green leaves that look like needles.

 

Small cones appear in bunches along the branches.

 

Cockatoos use this tree for food and the wood is commonly used for firewood.
